Fall Bible Study: Judges (Fall 2026)

Join us for a Judges Bible Study at the Paradox! At The Paradox Church, we value biblical literacy and believe that a deep understanding of Scripture is profitable for the individual and for the church body as a whole. Studying Scripture together in a Bible Study format provides a community environment for discussion and active mutual discipleship, as we encounter and apply Scripture to our lives.

One of the beautiful promises shown throughout the Bible is our God who remains faithful to his covenant despite how his people respond; he is our unshakable God. But that raises the question of what it means to be unshaken in our faith - to live with confidence in light of a world filled with chaos. What does it look like for our church to be unshaken and anchored in God’s Word when we see darkness and tragedy? How are we to remain faithful witnesses when humans turn away from the Lord? How might we display the glory and power of our God through an unshaken presence marked by hope and grace? Our hope is found in setting our eyes upon our covenant-keeping God who remains faithful even in the midst of chaotic times. 

So we will study the book of Judges, focusing on Chaos and Covenant. Judges shows us that true hope is found not in earthly leadership and stability, but in the unchanging nature and glory of God. It will challenge us to see the beauty of the Lord despite tragic cycles of sin and rebellion - both in the people of Israel, and in our own hearts.

Judges Syllabus

Bible Study Structure:
On Monday evenings, participants will gather around tables in same-gender groups of 6-8 people for 55 minutes of discussion, 10 minutes of prayer, and a 45-minute lesson from the teaching team on the text. You will have the opportunity to list individuals you would like to be in a Discussion Group with during registration.

Bible Study Workbook:
Throughout each week, participants will read the Scripture text while engaging with content in a provided Bible Study Workbook. The workbook includes questions, along with prompts for journaling and prayer, and aims to grow you in reading, interpreting, and applying scripture while preparing you for your group discussion. Time to walk through the text and corresponding workbook content is expected to be 30 minutes daily for 4-5 days, no more than 2 hours total in a given week.

**Plan to pick up your workbook at the church in order to complete the first week of the study prior to the launch of Bible Study.

Optional Add-On: ESV Scripture Journal
These journals include the entire text of Judges with lined journal pages. They are great for marking up the text and taking notes, and they're easier to lug around than a whole Bible.
